Laurent Brochard rode strongly in support of Richard Virenque and Laurent Dufaux, and also scored an excellent stage win at Vallée du Louron.
The Festina super-domestique has now topped off his season by taking the World Road Championship at San Sebastion, Spain. (October 1997)
