This photo was taken on the Trough of Bowland climb during the 1998 Prutour. This was the stage when the whole peloton went off course apart from 4 breakaways who had got away earlier, and gave the organisers a headache trying to decide what to do.
Eventually, the race was put back on course after a lengthy delay, but this meant that the race was effectively neutralised before it hit the 'Trough', and the whole field (apart from the escapers), came up the climb together.
